Description:
The willow is also known as the tree of pain. It reduces the inflammatory process and is a natural remedy.
Ingredients: 0.25 g of willow (salicis cortex) bark.
Effects:
The willows’ therapeutic qualities are little known, especially its bark, which can be considered a natural aspirin. The willow eases pain, protects against flu, reduces fever and helps maintain the nervous balance. It has tonic, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, sedative, astringent and anti-rheumatic effects.
Indications:
It is recommended as an adjuvant in fever, flu, rhinitis, pain of any aetiology, dysmenorrhea with painful symptoms, insomnia, anxiety or acute alcoholism.
Internal Use:
It is recommended in the treatment of neuralgia, rheumatism and gout, in case of colds, it lowers fever due to its antineuralgic properties, tackles insomnia and sadness states.
External Use:
It is used as baths in skin ulcers and haemorrhoids or as gargle in throat and oral conditions.
Directions for Use:
The recommended dose is 2 capsules 3 times a day.
Precautions:
Because the willow bark contains a compound that has the same effect as aspirin, people who should not take this drug, must avoid willow treatments as well. Some studies have shown that if you suffer from asthma, gout, diabetes, haemophilia or gastric ulcer, you must avoid willow. Also, if you are taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or blood thinners drugs, you must avoid taking willow or ask your doctor’s advice.
The willow can cause stomach irritation or nausea in very sensitive persons. Pregnant or nursing women must avoid willow treatments. It can also interact with other drugs, such as sedatives.
