Ginseng
In Chinese, the word “ginseng” means the “quintessence of a man” (gin-man; seng-essence). In China, there is almost no medical prescription that does not contain ginseng. For thousands of years, ginseng has been known as a remedy for revitalization and rejuvenation. Chewed roots prevent the effects of ageing. It is well known that ginseng strengthens the body and has adaptogenic effects (it helps the body recover easily from difficult, stressful situations, and serious illness), it has anti-carcinogenic and antioxidant effect. This effect is due to the presence of saponins, which are the root of ginseng. Research has shown that there are over 29 species. It helps boosting the immune system and increases the resistance against disease, it helps regulating metabolism and it prevents migraines, it eliminates fatigue. Clinical studies prove what was already known about ginseng.
* A randomized, double-blind, comparative study conducted at the National UNIVERSITY of Mexico indicated that ginseng can increase the quality of people’s lives. It also reduces fatigue and depression in people suffering from cancer.
* Another recent study at the University of Hong Kong has identified the anti-inflammatory effect of this plant by inhibiting the expression of genes responsible for this inflammation CXCL-10.
In 2002, a clinical study conducted on laboratory animals at the University of Illinois in the United States. showed that ginseng increases libido and sexual performance, the researchers noting that this effect is due to the ginsenosides that have direct action on the nervous system and gonads. It is well known that ginseng contains phytoestrogens, that have a stimulant effect on the pituitary gland, increasing the secretion of gonadotropin. Thus, it improves virility and helps treating male and female sexual dysfunctions.
Ginkgo biloba- is also one of the oldest tree species on our planet, which now has exemplars worldwide, that have reached the venerable age of 3,500 years. Buddhist monks, who have been responsible for the survival of this tree in the past centuries, believe that ginkgo biloba is an incarnation of the divine entities in the human world. This plant makes us … intelligent, attentive, helping us keep our mental tone up and overcome depression, it is very helpful against diabetes, asthma, cancer and diseases caused by irradiation. Generally, ginkgolides act as PAF inhibitor factors (the factor of aggregation of platelets, leukocytes, macrophages), involved in platelet aggregation, and inflammatory reactions. Flavonoids act as free radicals. Due to these properties, the various effects of the leaf extract can be explained. The extract acts on blood circulation disorders at the level of the brain and extremities, thereby improving energy metabolism in the brain by increasing the uptake of glucose and oxygen at the molecular level. It increases visual acuity in the eye. It inhibits the platelet activating factor, which reduces the tendency of blood clotting. It is also used for body care. Ginkgo is great for activating microcirculation and decongesting skin tissues.
