Description:
Poplar Bud Tincture is a hydroalcoholic solution obtained through cold preparation of Populus nigra tree buds. Also called “vegetal propolis”, poplar buds are the embryonic, undeveloped part of the branches and they are used in the traditional medicine to treat respiratory and urinary disorders.
Among plant products administrated orally, hydroalcoholic solutions (tinctures) are the most easily assimilated; the effects appear shortly.
Effects:
Internal: analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, respiratory and urinary antiseptic, diuretic (helps eliminate uric acid), expectorant.
External: healing, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory.
Indications:
Internal use:
It is used as an adjunct in: respiratory infections (tracheitis, bronchitis), influenza, tonsillitis, headache, fever, urinary infections, gout, rheumatism, joint disorders.
External use:
It is used as adjunct in: superficial wounds, minor burns (first-degree burns), haemorrhoids, acne, eczema infectious.
Contraindications:Due to its alcohol content, it is not recommended in: viral hepatitis, toxic and metabolic steatosis, cirrhosis, pregnancy and breastfeeding, poplar buds allergy or treatments that do not allow alcohol consumption.
Precautions:
To be used with caution by people with hyperacidity gastritis, and gastric and duodenal ulcers (due to its alcohol content, it can increase stomach acid).
Observations:
In the case of respiratory infections, it can be associated with thyme tincture and plantain tincture for boosting the therapeutic effect.
In the case of urinary infections, it can be associated with juniper tincture, for boosting the therapeutic effect.
