Composition:
Fenugreek seeds – Trigonellae Semen.
Active principles:
Fenugreek seeds contain choline, trigonelline, lecithin, volatile oil, tannins, iron salts, magnesium and phosphates.
Properties:
Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, hypocholesterolemic, hypoglycemic, secretolytic action, natural source of vitamin PP, antitussive and aphrodisiac.
Recommendations:
Internal: Adjuvant in anorexia, dyspepsia, anemia, stimulation of carbohydrate, protein and lipid metabolism, support of the central nervous system, sexual impotence, physical and mental asthenia, neurosis, thyroid goiter, digestive disorders, convalescence, hyperglycemia, diabetes mellitus, cough.
External: Useful in treating furunculosis, panaritium, phlegmon, purulent wounds and abscesses.
How to use:
Internal: Infusion – 1-2 teaspoons of plant per 250 ml of boiling water, boil for 1-2 minutes, then leave covered for 10-15 minutes. Consume 2-3 cups per day.
External: Poultice – the ground seeds are mixed with a little water and apple cider vinegar to form a paste, applied directly to the affected areas.
Contraindications:
Excessive consumption or use by people with kidney disease is not recommended. Contraindicated during pregnancy.
