Composition:

Aerial part of the Shepherd’s Purse plant – Bursae Pastoris herba.

Active principles:

Contains biogenic amines, glycosides, tannins, resins, flavones, traces of alkaloids, mineral salts and vitamin C.

Properties:

Haemostatic, vasoconstrictor effect on the uterus, uterotonic; regulates menstrual flow and blood pressure, also having an astringent and hypotensive effect.

Recommendations:

Internal use in cases of uterine bleeding, uterine diseases, dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia, menopausal disorders, epistaxis (nosebleeds), diarrhea, hypertension and atherosclerosis.

Method of administration:

Internal preparation: infuse a teaspoon of the plant in 250 ml of water, leave covered for 10-15 minutes. It is recommended to consume 1-2 cups of tea per day, in long-term treatments.

Contraindications:

When used in recommended doses, the product has no side effects. It is contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in people taking anticoagulants, contraceptives or corticosteroids. Caution is recommended in people with coagulation disorders, insomnia, nervous or sexual hyperexcitability, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, depression, hyperthyroidism or hypocorticism. This food supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet and should not be left within the reach of small children. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
